Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Mormons are interesting right now.

They have two candidates for President. It is interesting when you can say the only two Republican candidates running for an oval office instead of a rubber room are Mormons.

You have to understand that Mormons have never been popular in the United States. That’s why their capital is in Utah. They were run out of every other state they tried to live in and had to trek to a place that was so remote nobody bothered.

Their state was actually invaded by the U.S. Army and they were forced to give up their belief that a man could have as many wives as he wants at the point of a gun.

Since then, they have done a great PR job.

Think Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Think “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Wonderful. Except they had no part in the Civil War.

Think “Born Free.” Something they certainly would not sing about their women.

Think “The Lord’s Prayer.” It sounds wonderful. And it has nothing to do with what they believe.

To them, Jesus Christ is a rusting Buick sitting in the back yard.

To me, this is all just comedy.

But it is going to become very interesting if we are faced with someone who wears magic underware and is a real candidate for President.
