The new green market

leave a comment »

Green is back in town.

The green market opened last Saturday on the West Palm Beach waterfront.

Twice as big. Twice as crowded.

You know – where the library used to be.

I caught the report of the opening on a local channel featuring eggs from Farris Farms at 8 a.m. I didn’t get there until after 11 a.m.

Goodbye eggs. The guy couldn’t even remember when he sold out it was so long ago.

I got some hot pickle slices, but there was no pickle man. Maybe he left already.

I got some guacamole. Expensive, but at least it was fresh.

Lots of bakery goods and plants. Plenty of locally grown vegetables, but at only one place.

And lots of dogs. There were people with dogs everywhere. Girls with dogs. Guys with dogs. I may do a people with dogs page.

The totally excellent little donuts place was there but I can’t confirm whether they had the apple sauce stuff that they used to sell with them. That was heaven.
