The Seinfeld Effect

leave a comment »

I have just discovered the Seinfeld effect.

When you talk about nothing on a web site, you get far more responses than when you talk about something.

The show “Seinfeld” talked about nothing most of the time. My favorite episode is about who is first on your quick call thingy on your phone. It had huge ratings.

I have an iPhone. I figure I have one of those quick call things, but I don’t know how to work it. Contacts are good enough for me.

The corollary to the Seinfled effect is that when you are watching TV and you see a Seinfeld episode and switch to it, you already have seen it.

This is just magic. The guy is reading your mind through your TV and you are only fumbling with a remote.

And you watch it again.

Conan O’Brien, you are just a child in the woods. Jay Leno, just a hack.

Seinfeld is a genius.
